Every time I think of what my sister went through when she was dealing with her chemical dependence I get sick to my stomach. The way she looked was horrible all sunken in and skinny. Thank god we were able to find treatment for cocaine addiction for her before she killed herself. I never knew that chemical dependence could take such a toll on a person and change them so much nor did I understand how treatment for cocaine addiction could restore a person back to their original self.

It's hard for a parent to grasp the fact that their child is consumed by a substatnce dependency or any other addiction for that matter. It's even harder to not do something to help that child in their suffering but, the hardest thing is loosing the child completely do to addiction.
